Portage salarial: The most popular freelance's status!

With more than 3.6 million freelance workers are practicing their profession under a wide variety of statutes, wage portage is emerging as the simplest and the most reliable.

It has been said that one of the reasons for the explosion in the number of self-employed people (whatever their status: auto-entrepreneur, SASU, portage, EI or other...) was a direct consequence of the tightness of the job market and of Covid. Obviously, the latest statistics tend to prove that this is not the case: Freelance's status is not undergone, but globally chosen, why?

We met Michael Roméo, Head of France at Invoicery France Portage salarial.

Can you introduce Invoicery France?

Invoicery France is part of the Swedish group Invoicery Frilans Finans, created in 1999 and now present in six European countries.

Our aim is to offer the optimal form of organisation of self-employment in each country and thus to allow the free mobility of labour within the European Union.

What are the values that your company stands for?

At Invoicery, we believe in the ability of each individual to become autonomous and to develop professionally. Our mission is to enable individuals to manage the execution of their work and to undertake their work in complete serenity.

Our goals are based on our values. We call this approach 'caring' or benevolence. The other two pillars of our core values are 'responsible and supportive' but also 'state-of-the-art technology and expertise'.

We have complete respect for the different needs of all our clients, large and small, and we consider it our duty to respond to them in the best possible way through our personal guidance and support throughout their mission.

What is "portage salarial"?

The Portage Salarial allows them to combine the freedom of the freelance with the social protection of an employee.

The freelance worker in portage salarial manages the entire commercial relation with his clients (prospecting, negotiating, providing services) and therefore remains the owner of his clients.

The Portage salarial company operates as an intermediary and therefore discharges him from all administrative, legal and financial aspects. It signs an employment contract with the freelancer and a service contract with the freelance's client companies in order to re-invoice its services.

What are the benefits of portage salarial for the freelance?

The Portage Salarial system frees them from the tax, social and administrative responsibilities related to their activity, allowing them to concentrate only on their job. Portage salarial enables them to devote themselves 100% to their work without being burdened with formalities and obligations they do not master. They are not required to train on the subject and/or to surround themselves with advisers to do the job properly (accountant, lawyer and others): no need to think about invoicing, declarations, accounting closures, insurance, etc. This free time allows them to devote more time to their core business and personal life.

In addition to that, they benefit from all the advantages of salaried employment: retirement, provident fund, illness and accidents at work, family allowance, work disability and mortality insurance, unemployment, training, business liability insurance, and even an employer's health insurance scheme.

And what about Companies?

Portage Salarial allows companies to have access to a resource, the freelance worker, very quickly, without having to hire him or impose the need to create a company. Thus, they control the financial, legal and reputational risks. The fact that the portage Company takes care of the payment period (unlike an employee who has to be paid every month) helps them to control their costs. The fact that human resources are externalised also simplifies management: there is no social involvement, we are not in a recruitment process, but rather in the process of purchasing a service.

New projects, difficult economic context, unpredictable market evolution, new way of apprehending work relations, complex needs which require skills that the company does not have internally, it is in these precise cases that portage salarial interests more and more companies, seduced by its juridical security, its ease of use but also by the expertise of the freelance employees.

At Invoicery France, everything is clear, calculated in full transparency; unlike other market players, we are there to support our clients and companies in their interests above all. Our objective is not the turnover, but the satisfaction of our clients!
