INVOICERY : The humanistic portage salarial with an international dimension

Invoicery, a company specialised in portage salarial and places the human dimension at the heart of its issues, enjoys international prestige and has seen its turnover double by 2021. We met Michael Roméo, Head of France.

What is the challenge of portage salarial?

Portage salarial allows the company that uses it to get rid of the administrative, legal and contractual aspects of its activity, which are often restrictive and time-consuming, in order to meet a need for specialised expertise. The Portage salarial system allows companies to have access to a resource (the freelancer/consultant) very quickly, without having to hire him or her, or to create a company. Their management is drastically simplified as they only have to pay a monthly invoice, with no time commitment or minimum hours. Thus, portage salarial offers great flexibility since it can be set up without delay, allows you to be operational very rapidly and can be adapted to missions lasting from one week to three years. In addition, it enables companies to prevent any economic, legal or organisational risk. Finally, portage salarial provides greater control over costs and more flexible cash flow management because, contrary to an employee who has to be paid at the end of each month, the portage salarial company can adapt invoice payment deadlines

In the current economic context, which can be difficult or worrying due to a lack of visibility, companies have complex needs which require skills they do not necessarily have internally. The legal certainty, ease of execution and no obligation expertise offered by portage salarial can greatly relieve companies in this unpredictable climate.

What is Invoicery's identity ?

Our clientele is mainly service-oriented. This includes a wide range of sectors, such as all areas related to IT, new technologies, energy, industry and human resources. Our goal is to offer the optimal form of freelance work organisation in each country where we operate. We want to enable the Freelance (B2C) and Companies (B2B) to have better control over their working conditions so that they can be free to undertake their business in complete peace of mind, focusing on their core business rather than on the administrative aspects.

This corresponds to Invoicery's core values: we believe in everyone's ability to develop professionally. This is why our clients include small, medium and large companies, national and international, and sometimes even NGOs, without distinction. We do not have a minimum turnover requirement before accepting a new client because we are aware that every adventure has a beginning and we must be able to accompany these initial moves. In the case of a new company or a young freelancer, portage salarial is often a precious help because it does not require any investment.

How are you currently positioning yourself in the market?

Although portage salarial has existed since the 1990s and has been invented in France, it initially developed strongly in the Anglo-Saxon countries. However, we have experienced its later but very strong development. The healthcare crisis was undoubtedly a trigger for this transformation. The massive opening up of distance working has been beneficial to freelance staffing. A large number of companies have therefore opened in this sector over the last three years.

In this context, our history makes us stand out. Invoicery is part of a group that has been established for several decades. We have a very strong international presence. Multilingual, we are frequently called on by foreign companies for the expertise of French Freelancers. We also have a large number of freelancers who want to open up their services to international companies.

Our legitimacy also comes from the fact that we are members of the European Federation of Freelance Workers (FEPS), one of whose objectives is to conclude agreements and conventions as a professional organisation representative of the freelance sector in the Senate. For example, the right to training for freelancers in portage was obtained in December 2020. It is important to continue to develop the legislation on portage salarial so that it is better suited to the needs of freelancers and secures their activity.
